Your first consideration is always the budget. Decide for how much you can afford for each guest and how many guests you will be inviting?
- Decide if the wedding favor is for each couple or for every individual.
- If you're planning on having wedding favors inscribed before passing them on to your guests, be sure there's space to inscribe the names and the wedding date.
- A wedding favor with a purpose is more appreciated than one your guest will have to make room for.
- If each guest will be taking home an edible wedding favor, be sure it's something all diets can handle. Sugary treats will not attract the diabetics and many people are allergic to strawberries or chocolate. If you're planning to give out favors that contain alcohol, you'll also want to have similar bottles of soda or sparkling water to give to teetotalers.
- Consider a wedding favor with an aesthetic appeal. Can it be used as a centerpiece? A wedding favor should be symbolic or reflect the bride and groom's individual taste.. Small gifts in the traditional sense could include chocolates, candies, cookies or other sweet treats.
- Custom printed votive candle holders are inexpensive and can be used over and over. Personalized glassware including champagne flutes and wine glasses are more expensive but will be cherished for years to come as a collectible keepsake.
- If you are planning on seating your guests with place cards, insert your place cards into place card picture frames. The frames can be given as the wedding favor and it can be used for favorite pictures of the wedding couple, children or grandchildren for years to follow
- Scented soaps, lotions and candles neatly presented in wedding gift bags with a personal thank you message make great gifts for overnight guests to use in their hotel rooms. A personalized gift bag containing a small bottle of champagne, two toasting glasses and a romantic treat like chocolate-covered strawberries will be etched in the memory always.
- It is always a good idea to provide a wedding favor just for the kids. A miniature puzzle or some crayons and a small coloring book to occupy their time? Wedding bubbles are a traditional favor and great fun for the kids! These items can be neatly presented in a custom printed frosted mini bag.
Don't Rush! Take your time and believe that you are making the right choices. Remember this is your day. It belongs to you and no one else. Do not let anyone pressure you into making a decision.
